POLICY STATEMENT

The implementation of Suzuki's Talent Education system is a long-term process.   The program of instruction and fee structure reflect this intent and are established for a minimum of one school year made up of 40 weeks of private lessons and 33 group and theory classes. These periods do not include Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and other various vacations and holidays.

Non-completion of the school year relieves a family of its financial obligation to the school for unusual circumstances only.   These circumstances include a serious illness in the immediate family or a move of 50 miles or more from the greater Dallas area.   Such unusual circumstances must be discussed with the General Manager and the teacher.   In order for a family to withdraw from the program prior to the end of the forty-one week year, a waiver/release form must be signed by the General Manager .   Otherwise the family will be held responsible for their financial obligation.

Registration is open year-round on a space available basis. Please contact the Business Office to inquire about openings.

While SID makes no guarantee that a first choice in lesson day and time will be granted, every effort will be made on the part of the instructors to reach an agreeable arrangement as a result of a family registering early.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Our aim in our studios is to provide the best possible environment for you and your child.

If a student misses or cancels a lesson, the teacher is NOT required to make up the lesson.

When a student knows in advance that he or she will not be able to make his or her lesson, the student may trade lessons with another student, providing that the teacher is made aware of the trade.

School Closure (Weather/Snow or Ice related)

SMID follows the RISD and PISD decisions regarding weather related closings. Our teachers are afforded one missed lesson per student per year under these weather related school closings. Teachers are not obliged to make up these lessons.

If a teacher cancels or misses a lesson for any reason other than weather-related closings, the teacher is required to make up the lesson.

Late arrival or "no show" means you have forfeited that time. To benefit fully from your allotted time, please arrive early, unpack and be ready to begin. This also applies to group and orchestra.

Please remember that this lesson time has been exclusively secured specifically for only your child. In turn, other times have been secured exclusively for other students.   Asking for make-ups leads to exhaustion for the teachers and organizational difficulties for the studio.

The home page of the website (www.suzukidallas.com) will announce school closing for weather or other unusual circumstance.   If in doubt about whether or not the school will be closed, consult the website.

Non-discriminatory Policy

The Suzuki Institute of Dallas is a not-for-profit school governed by a Board of Directors and admits students of any race, color, nationality and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.
