Ode to my Music School

It's vast

  With rooms everywhere

And children darting

Down the halls.

Parents chatting and

Catching up on news,

Keeping their eyes

On the children.

People playing their

  Instrument with grins

Of contentment on

  Their faces.

I play the violin

And listen to

Their praise.

Music is seeping

Under doorways,

Divine sounds creeping

Into my ear.

Sounds of bliss

From everywhere.

Working together in

  An orchestra, making

It sound as one.

Listen to the blending

Of all the different tones.

Feel the strings

Under my fingers.

Sense the vibrations

Under them.

Pull the bow and

Make that pure sound.

Move to a new

Song, I beam with pride,

And feel splendid inside.

Making my

Parents proud.

Teachers aid the child

Discover the melody

Behind the notes.

So that they can,

In time,

Be exceptional.

I sit and read while

Listening to the music.

The music that

Fills the building.

The music that fills me.
